Windows 7: Slow file copy in Windows 7 Virtual PC XP Mode

Slow file copy in Windows 7 Virtual PC XP Mode

First things first, here are my machine's specs:

Intel Core i7-3610QM @ 2.30GHz (Ivy Bridge)
Windows 7 Professional 64bit

My problem is probably the most common problem with running virtual machines - slow file copy (network). I have already done an intensive research on suggestions which could fix my issue but still no luck:

1. enable_idle_thread in Options.xml
2. DisableTaskOffload in registry (both in host Windows 7 and guest XP)
3. Disable offloading in NIC advanced options
4. Tried VMWare Player but it turned out to be slower than Windows Virtual PC

I'm frustrated that everybody from where I have read who tried the above solutions seemed to have their problems fixed except for me. Just to add, I have set the virtual machine to have a RAM of 3340MB (the maximum it allowed me to specify).

Any other suggestions?
