running windows7 build 7000 -- tried to install the latest daemon tool, but it just fails, goes into a circle of reboots trying to install some device.
just about have everything else working.. just not a virtual CD rom.
tried virtualclonedrive, alcohol120%, the windows (unsupported) virtual drive.. thinking maybe nero image reader?
anyone have any ideas.

maybe its that registery key i should remove or rename others are talking about
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions
Slysoft Virtual CloneDrive was recommended to me after both Alcohol 52% and Daemon Tools failed.
Virtual Clonedrive works beautifully, and I'm using Windows 7 BETA x64.
thanks for the replys.. i removed that registery setting, and now i have VirtualCloneDrive5411 installed and working ... mounting images good.
Gizmo Central -- Download works good.
Pismo Technic Inc. is nice but some setup programs refuse to work from it's virtual CD, others work but slow.
Both are freeware
Bat... How exactly did you removed the registry settings...
Could you give me the step by step process... coz we kinda have the same problem,,

Alcohol 52% FE (Free edition) works flawlessly on W7 too. No registry hacks etc etc. required.
(W8 has built in Virtual ISO mounter is you are thinking of upgrading - so you don't need these tools any more for W8).
It supports W8 too but you don't need this type of software any more for W8 as it's built in to the OS.
