VMWare Fusion 5 Windows 7 Home Prem-How to add programs to Windows 7

I just installed VMWare Fusion 5 and Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit to my Mac Book Pro using Lion OS. I cannot figure out how to add the programs to Windows 7 in this VM set-up.

I have a Publisher 2010 CD, and when I insert it into my Mac, nothing happens. When I click on the setup.exe, the Mac doesn't know what to do (of course).

I'm not familiar with Windows 7, so I don't know how to "manually" add programs. I recall when I used XP, I could go to the control panel and select "install program." I don't see such a feature in Windows 7.

I also need to know how to add a program that I will download from the Internet to Windows 7.

    What am I missing?

Do you have the VM set to share the DVD/CD drive in the VM Settings?

This is for VMWare Workstation, but the process should be similar.

Just download the installer into the VM and double click it. It will either be an exe or msi program which will run a wizard to install the program.

Thank you kado897. When I downloaded the program it worked as you indicated above. It's been a while since I've worked in Windows.
