| windows 7 home premium 64 bit 15 posts | installing windows 7 64 bit on virtual box I keep getting this error when trying to install windows 7 on a new virtual machine in virtual box. Fatal: could not read from the boot medium! system halted. I know that the dvd is good because it starts to install on the host machine if I try, I also changed the boot order for the VM to CD/DVD, any ideas what is wrong? thanks |

| MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 747 posts Somewhere in the middle of Desert :-) | Try with an ISO file of Windows 7 x64 OS install disk. You can also delete the present VM, create a fresh one and try. Also check the settings of Virtual box which worked for you before. |
