Problem with Ulead iPhoto Plus 4 with Virtual XP Mode Windows 7 Ultx64

This is the best and easiest to use photo editting software I've ever found. It won't install on Windows 7, so I have it running in XP mode and it works, but every time I try to save my work, I get Memory errors. Also for some reason the program doesn't show up in my Windows XP Mode 2 Applications in my Windows 7 program list. Every other program I have installed shows up there, and runs directly from my Windows 7 desktop.

Hi Jagged1 and welcome to Seven forums.
You are getting memory errors when saving picture files? You could try to increase the amount of RAM your virtual XP machine has in the settings. Or increase the size of the virtual hard drive. You may need to look for another editing program long term.....

I'll run up a 7 virtual machine and set up the XP virtual machine and get back to you.

Thanx! I really appreciate it. I tried doing it myself in the virtual xp settings, but whatever I tried to change it to, it wouldn't take it. I have lots of extra ram and hardrive space on this computer, but it just doesn't seem to recognize it.

Hey, thanx for the tutorial, unfortunately when I right click Windows XP Mode in All Programs/ Windows Virtual PC/ Windows XP Mode, there is no "Settings" available in the dropdown window.

If you set the window display to icons you will see an icon, orange monitor and a blue monitor screen. Right click on this and select settings.

The tutorial does not say right click Start > All Programs > Windows Virtual PC > Windows XP Mode.

It says double click Start > All Programs > Windows Virtual PC > Windows XP Mode, then right click on the virtual machine (Ex: Virtual Windows XP) that you want to change the settings for, then click on Settings.

Double click here:

Right click here and select Settings from context menu:

Hehe :thumbsup:I think Kari and I were beginning to wonder. Seriously I am sure that will help. Don't go mad and give the Virtual XP all 3gb of ram if your system only has 8 gb but try 1 or 2 gb and see how it goes.;)

IPE file.

I got Photo Plus 4 to work by copying the files on my computer, and just opening the IPE file. It didn't need installing at all, then creating a shortcut on my desktop. I'm running Windows 8 64 bit. No problems I've discovered so far.
