Several Gigabyte motherboards seem to have a bios issue with Windows Virtual PC and Windows 7 -- threads discussing this and a review articale are here -- we can just hope they fix it for our boards:

Cannot start Windows Virtual PC while another virtualization software is running.

    Gigabyte motherboard users (incl. GA-MA790GP-DS4H)

I opened a service request with Gigabyte for my boards.

    Good luck

That's great! Now be prepared to go through the entire process all over again since the RTM versions of both the VPC and XP Mode are now available at the MS site. You no longer see the RC label since MS wanted that ready for 10/22 on 7's launch date!
