Virtual XP Problem

Hey guys, I have this problem that is so frustrating that I am about to start drinking again!

I loaded the XP mode and all. It opens and works just fine. When I did it I was on my Verizon card. It opens to the internet when I am using my Verizon but I can't get it to connect anywhere else, like my homes DSL. I have gone through every setting in the Xp mode but can't get it to find an adapter at all. I have tried a straight ethernet as well, no luck.

I know it's something simple, knowing my luck. I just can't figure it out!

Any help would be much appreciated

Hi there
in your Virtual machine settings on Virtual PC enable the networking as NAT or Bridged.

Your HOST network adapter must be working before the VM's "Virtual Network adpters" can do anything, so ensure that you can connect to the Internet with the host machine.

Now try IE on the guest vm. It should work just fine provided the host networking is functioning properly.

You shouldn't need to change any of the individual Virtual Network adapter settings on the Guest machine.

See also if you can PING the host machine from the XP guest.

Cheers
