need help on vm server 2008

i try to setup a server using virtual box. windows server 2008 standard 32bit. i create a AD domain name is domain.local. i try to join domain from my pc it prompt me this message. An active directory domain controller for the domain could not be contacted. ensure that the domain name is type correctly . anyone can advise me ? I set static ip for server alr. IP:10.0.2.15, Subnetmask 255.255.255.0, Default gateway: 10.0.2.1, prefered dns:10.0.2.15. And from my pc i set it point the dns to ad which is 10.0.2.15 (Prefered dns). but i just can't join domain. when i ping the ip it said reply from (IP Address) TTL expired in transit. anyone can advise me how can i host a server in vm and join domain in my own pc. thanks and appreciate much
