No, it's a Virtual Machine. So really, you could get VMWare and create your own XP Mode if you really wanted to, but that's not necessary thanks to Microsoft creating it for us.

Maybe I'm not understanding XP Mode enough. Does it get Windows Updates that are specific to Windows XP?

No it is XP just in a VM so should suffer the same fate as a physical version.

You're welcome, but I'm still wondering: does Windows Update work in XP Mode? Do you get XP-specific updates?

That's why I'm asking about Windows Update.

It's just a VM so should get updates in just the same way as a physical copy.
