XP-mode crashes when opening \\tsclient\C or other Win7 disks
I've been using XPmode earlier on my machine but right now I cannot reach any old files located on the shared Windows 7 disks. XPmode starts OK and files can be written to the virtual machine's local C:, but when trying to open the tsclient\C or any other tsclient disk (or any file on those) XPmode crashes and the virtual machine restarts from scratch. Files on XPmode C: opens OK and can be resaved but only to the virtual disk! I'm running Win 7 Enterprise on that machine.
The same thing happens on my other machine which has a Win 7 Professional "system" just installed. Why is Microsoft doing this to ME????
Wasn't just Bill's fault this time!
Problem due to Avast antivirus installed on virtual XP-mode as well as on main system (Windows 7). Uninstalling from XP fixed it all!
Me no worry no more. Mee lika this. Me kicka viruses manually in XP-mode. Me very quick!
Looking at Avast support forum it shows that Avast is informed and working on the roblem but will not supply a quick solution?! Difficult in other words. But the fast and dirty fix is to install older version, Avast 7.etwas, and troubled days are gone.
Done that. Works fine with a little limp.
