Not enough memory for virtualization with 4+1GB RAM
I wish to share my experience.
I could normally run VMPlayer and VirtualBox on my PC Lenovo T410 with WinXP and 3GB RAM.
They could not work anymore after the PC was upgraded to Windows 7 and 5GB RAM (4+1GB), both tools reporting "Not enough physical memory" in the host machine, despite I reduce the configuration of the VMs to 512KB RAM only and a lot of memory was available in the host (more than 2GB indeed).
After months, I finally got rid of it by removing the 1GB RAM card and remaining with 4GB only.
What is the issue with the memory management of Windows 7?
Note I've had this issue with virtualization only (VMPlayer and VirtualBox), while any other office and multimedia tool could normally work with 4+1GB RAM.
