    Some ram unusable

I recently install windows virtual pc to run linux in windows 7. I noticed that when I went to check computer properties that the only 2.95 gb or ram were usable out of 6gb of ram. I think it might be the virtualization software using my ram so I uninstalled it. The virtualization software was windows virtual PC. How do I fix the ram problem. Thanks in advance I hope you can help me. Also I already tried the maximum ram fix in msconfig it didn't work.

It would be helpful to post a screen shot of Resource Monitor. It should have a colored bar ram usage display.

You do not want to do the max ram fix in msconfig/boot/advanced.
You want it to look like this. The two red circles. No check marks.

Do you mind posting your detail computer specs

The ram issue could be for many reasons so I want a full detail of specs
also do you happen to run a dedicated graphics card or are you using HD graphics off the CPU or off the Motherboard ?

One or a couple of things could be addressing your memory also provide us with a snip like this resource monitor it will tell you exactly where the ram is going and we can tell you how to shift it

It went back to 6gb of ram now and I know why it was because of a sd card using my ram I don't know how but every time I would plug it in it would use my ram. I just formatted the sd card and everything worked fine.

Yes information is absolutely needed. Your specs are needed.
If you would of mentioned you had a SD card our suggestion and post would of been completely different.

How would a sd card use system ram? I am very confused. Thats storage, not ram.
