Windows server 2008 R2 - revert after sysprep

I was trying to move a physical server to Azure and at some point sysprep was required.
Standard sysprep with generalize option went fine but after that the server did not login back to windows.
The setup wizard loads services indefinitely.
All I want to revert back to previous state if possible.

What I did:
I took out the c:\windows\system32\config\system registry file to another PC
and modified the following keys in Setup:
SetupType: 0
SystemSetupInProgress: 0

Now the system starts in windows, however it takes very long and the usual services are not started.
Also when opening explorer gives this error:
"The server process could not be started because the configured identity is incorrect"

I tried to fix:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\AppID\{CDCBCFCA-3CDC-436f-A4E2-0E02075250C2}
but the RunAs REG_SZ value is already set to "Interactive User".

What do do next?
