i will try to use your recommendation and uncheck use vhdx BOX.
i am just wondering if i can convert the VHDX file i created already to VHD

It's not going to work. Better to try again, this time creating a VHD.

now i have the VHD file
but when i tried to use the virtual box it is just gone a black xp window
do i need to have the iso for the windows i am installing
