It's not internet sharing as such, rather your xp mode's network connection is integrated into your host system's connections.

With the Huawei, has w7 detected it and successfully installed the driver? If everything is ok with that then you might need to do some setting up with the software that the Huawei uses. Just compare the setting that worked in xp mode and apply it on w7.

Thank u a lot for the reply, actually Huawei wireless terminal fts1201, is successfully installed in windows7, in the cd attached with the hardware , there is driver for windows vista , I used it, it worked, but the problem when I try to disconnect from net and disconnect again , here where the problem starts , the task goes endless and I cannot connect again unless I switch off and on the w7 again, I tried compatibility mode since the Huawei FTS 1201 works fine on Windows XP, but the same thing happens, it is strange problem the modem is recognized by w7 and the driver is successfully installed but I am still facing the same problem, I think this hardware does not have the right patch for w7 that was why I emailed Huawei company for this problem they told me that , their device is working on xp and vista but they have not provided software for w7 yet.
So I was thinking of w7, and xp mode , since the device is working with xp mode and I do not face any problem , I thought making an internet sharing connection between w7, xp mode could solve the problem, I access the net from xp mode and I can share this connection with w7,
So what about the setting u said how I could compare between them

This may have been answered somewhere else, but I am simply looking to connect to my regular office network within the XP Mode. I have some old programs that still need to be able to connect to the office network.

You compare the settings in the software application for the Huawei, from Xp that works to the setting in w7 that doesn't. Basically making sure the settings are the same.

Might be best to create a new thread.

If you can connect from your host machine, i assume though a VPN software, then you need to install this software on your Xp Mode. Internet sharing via the Nic, wireless or bridge (NAT), isn't going to be an issue.

thanks a lot for the reply , finally i am able to make my fixed wireless terminal work with w7, after a lot of effort , it is working great now, there is no need for making internet sharing between w7 and xp mode since my internet is working fine now, i did what u adviced me, i did compare the settings and it seems that , i am like doing the job that Texas instruments had to do

Did you get an answer to this question as I have the very same question. Or did you figure it out yourself and if you did, how did you do it?
