Horribly garbled Aero on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 guest - Vbox 4.3.12

Running a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 guest on a Windows 10 Technical Preview x64 host (Toshiba Satellite E55t-A5320, i5-4200U, 12 GB RAM, Intel HD4400). I have installed guest additions and the experimental drivers. This is what I have before enabling Aero (everything working fine)

This is what I have after enabling Aero, with horribly garbled graphics and nothing is visible:

What is going on? Again, I'm running Virtualbox 4.3.12 r93733.

Try using the new VirtualBox version, 4.3.18, it improves compability over Windows 10 TP. BTW, I installed (a lot of times) Windows 7 on a guest. I just installed guest additions, and it did it all for me: enabled aero, sound drivers,...

Downloading right now, but the last time I used the latest version (4.3.17 I think) every VM refused to boot, throwing an E_FAIL error.

Apparently 4.3.18 doesn't work on build 9860, according to the Virtualbox forums.

Try using a different Guest Additions than the one that comes with VB 4.3.18 . I used one from their index files 4.3.8 RC/ and it installed the correct virtual box video driver. I and using windows 10 9860 also and runs fine.

Try using vmware player as a test. That always seems to work better than virtualbox.
