what is the best virtual machine to install window 10 in win 7?
I have been using Virtualbox. It has worked well.
any other who can gave me review on other softwares???
VMWare is excellent, I've run several VMs in it and currently have two different W10 builds running in it via a Windows 7 host.
VMWare Player
VirtualBox has more features than VMWare Player such as snapshots which are very useful on Beta systems which may suddenly go wrong. Its downside is that it is not quite as stable. I an running W10 in both.
Excellent tutorial Wolfgang. What windows program do you use to record this with. Tx
The recording was done with Camtasia. But that is a bit pricey. I got it for free thru the MVP channels. Another one I use is WMCapture. That is just as good for a small price. And they have a free 4 week trial where you can chack it out.
I have tried many recorders over the years. Those two and the Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 (used to be $199 but is free now) are the only programs that produce good quality. The acid test is always text on the screen. When you record action scenes, you won't see much difference though.
The advantage of WMCapture is that it also works well on a modest CPU. The other two need a LOT of CPU muscle for the encoding. Even my i7 is working very hard and long for the encoding. Another problem is that the upload to YouTube takes a lot of quality away. The originals play a LOT better.
If you are interested I can upload one of the originals for you to compare - probably the third video because that is only 45MB. Will still take a bit but if you are seriously exploring the subject, no problem.

I have used CamStudio in the past. It is completely free. CamStudio - Free Screen Recording Software
Virtual Machine...
The 2 main ones i know many people use although i'm sure there are many more great solutions out there:
- Oracle VirtualBox - I have used this for many years now and it's never failed me
Download - https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads- WMWare Player - Never really used it myself but know other who have and they haven't expressed any issues with it.
There is also Windows Virtual PC - Used once or twice but i stuck with VirtualBox - Windows Virtual PC - Create Virtual Machine
Overall, Try them and see what you like best i suppose.
If you move onto Windows 8.1 then
Hyper-V - I have just started using this, i really like it and may well replace VirtualBox for me but i'm not sure how to explain why.
Screen Recording...
I 2nd CamStudio, i always turn to this for screen recording, i have only ever done really basic capturing and never needed to edit the video so i'm not sure how feature rich it is compared to others but for my needs it has been great.

Jamie
