Dual booting Windows 7 and Hyper-V?

    Hi Everyone,

I am interested in setting up Hyper-V Server on a test bed (Desktop) for evaluation purposes.

My challenge is that the test bed already has Windows 7 installed, and I would like to leave it that way. Essentially I am looking for a way to dual boot Windows 7 and Hyper-V.

Can anybody offer any suggestions on how to go about setting up these two operating systems in a dual boot configuration?

    Kind Regards,

    Davo

    Hi Dude,

Thanks for the input. This isn't quite what I am looking for, as I am purely interested in testing the dedicated Server product. However it is very handy to know that Windows 8/8.1 has this functionality built in!

    Kind Regards,

I know this is an old thread, but I run Server 2012 R2 with Hyper-V enabled as a virtual machine in VMware Workstation. It works quite well (my laptop has three SSDs and 16GB of RAM, for what it's worth).
