Do you need to install XP updates?

I installed the XP Virtual machine. Do I need to run windows update within the XP Mode?

Looks like the XP Virtual Mode is SP3 but there are still some updates that show as needing to be installed.

Thanks.

I would suggest to you that you treat your Virtual XP (or any OS) like a non virtual OS and keep it up to date. You still need the MS security updates at least, and may benefit from the MS software updates.

Cheers!

A virtual machine is like any other computer, it needs to be updated. It also needs its own firewall and malware & virus protection.

I would agree with the others, unless you plan to keep this virtual machine completely segregated from the outside world (no network connection etc.).
