Does Virtualization use the hosts drivers?

Hi, just a quick question; I've been having driver issues that cause me to blue screen when runing certain programs, I was wondering if running a virtual machine would possibly fix the problem since it's a different OS, so it probably has its own drivers. (or not, I'm new to this Virtualization stuff sorry.)

Also, say it doesn't use it's own drivers; if I ran the same programs that kill my computer on the virtual machine, would that just cause the simulated OS to BSOD or the entire PC?

Hosts File
Hey, I was wondering, is there any internet performance gain if you put a commonly used website's IP (like Google) in your Hosts file, so it doesn't need to ask a DNS server? I mean, because I have 30 websites I go on at least 10 times each day, and it lags when I open all of them :D Thanks!
