Access host drive from command prompt in xp mode

    Hi All,

This might be a silly question, but I'm having a terrible time trying to access files on the host machine (Windows 7) through the command prompt within the Virtual Machine (XP). I can see the drives in Explorer (e.g. C on VAULT_CORE_I&) and I see \\tsclient\c in the prompt, but I have no idea how to access the drive from the prompt.

I'm trying to help out a colleague who runs an old FORTRAN compiler and does alot of his engineering calcs with it, and would not work in Windows 7 (but it is working in XP Mode). However, I'd like to keep the files on his Windows 7 machine and not contain them inside the virtual machine.

    Any help is much appreciated.

I think you can map a network drive, e.g., H:, to \\tsclient\c, then use H: from command prompt.

    mapping to \\tsclient\c

I tried mapping through the Windows Explorer within the XP Mode, but couldn't see the host drive (\\tsclient\c) when I tried to map it. Is there another way to map?

Do you have intergration enabled? Can you access host drives from Windows Explorer?

I can easily map them, and can access them from cmd prompt, e.g.

    dir \\tsclient\c

    works

Yup, integration is enabled. I can acess the host drives from Windows Explorer. The funny thing is, while "dir \\tsclient\c" works, that is I can see the list of files/directories with the command, I can't make it the active drive.

I can't figure out how to map, say, a drive letter to it. If I could, then I could go to z:, then cd to the directory I want to work in. Is there a way to map it to a drive letter or otherwise make it the active drive at the command prompt?
