Intel Q9550 Bought and now kaput

I bought a new Q9550 by intel supports virtualization on paper and in the bios its there and turned on but for whatever reason when I upgraded from my dual core to a Quad it is not working now I am appreciative any advice I can get I just learned how to publish my apps and use my old printer. If I cant fix this it will suck to not have my laser.

I have a Q9550 and it supports virtualization no problem.

You likely need a BIOS update on your motherboard to support the newer CPU chip.

Well I had everything working yesterday and I upgraded my processor from an intel duo dual core to a quad core Q9550 and when I did I now get the error saying that my computer does not support the virtualization mode I looked everything up and it all says its compatible, I went into the bios and the setting for virtualization is on but for whatever reason its not working.

And which virtualization software is it that you are using which is refusing to start properly? And what exactly is the message that you are receiving?

I found the following article on Toms Hardware suggesting that you might need to reinstall the OS after changing from a Dual Core to a Quad core...specifically this article mentions the Q9550
Intel Q9550 reports no hardware virtualization - CPUs - CPU-Components

    Also, check this
