Win7 Geniun Problems after downloading XP-mode form MS

    Hey guys..

I resently started looking into the virtual world....
I download virtual pc from Microsoft.
Then I downloaded the XP-mode from their site. In order to do this you need to go through a validation process which I passed with grace...but in order to do so you need to download a little(-+150kb) program from their site to complete the validation process. ALL THIS IS DONE STRAIGHT FROM THE MICROSOFT SITE.

During the night I lost internet connection and my download stopped, so when I got to my pc that little program popped up and said that my copy of Windows7 is no longer geniun........(Windows7 is my main OS)

What's the reason for this and what are my options?

    Thanks in advance.

YES the OS has beem validated and registered. The PC was build by a Private PC builder. I purchased win7 Prof 32bit and he installed it ect.

BTW...I hate pirated OSs....it screws up everything

As far as I can see this is just another registration process you need to go through like you would after a fresh installation?

Is this true??? But my main question is why should I do this?

I'm at work at the moment but as soon as I get home I'll do just that.

To give you some insight, the program which you are required to download for the validation process is the one which gives me the "NON GENIUN COPY" notice.
It aproves you for the download(The validation process is a success) but then this morning it gave me that very disturbing notice.

So I deleted it. Will see what happened while I was gone from home.

Another thing that bugs me....I tried to install Win7 Ult 64bit on the VM as a guest OS, but I get a error that my CPU isn't 64bit compattable, but I know for a fact it is. What do you make of this? The Host OS is Win7 prof. 32bit.
