Vmware WKS 7.1 and vmware player 3.1 KILLS XP Mode

Hi all
You can try the new versions of vmware player (3.1) FREE and Workstation (7.1) - Commercial
http://communities.vmware.com/community/beta/ws

I think now that you can launch applications directly in UNITY mode with these new releases it should eliminate the need to use XP mode at all - and remember you can run vmware on 32 bit software and don't need to have the "Virtualisation feature" enabled in your CPU either. You can run this on Windows 7 Home as well.

The graphics are improved and in general performance is so much better than XP mode I can't see any reason to even THINK of using XP mode any more -- apart from the fact that you get a copy of XP included in XP mode.

The Unity feature is really great now it allows you to launch APPLICATIONS as well --it's been working for printers for a while now with the previous releases.

(VBOX is also fine - nothing against it - but since we use vmware at work I also use it at home for consistency. I don't know if it has an equivalent to the "Unity" feature").

Cheers
jimbo

I installed VMware player 3;
after one week ( i didn't use it ), removed it from control panel ..., but
yesterday, when i clicked on its setup file to install it, it showed me two options, repair or remove?!!!!!
I chose both of these several times, but nothing happens, neither it is removed not installed, how is this possible;
BTW, it has made a account which whenever i want to log on into 7, it shows it;
I don't know how it is created. And i can't remove it, its not like other accounts, there isn't in User accounts with other accounts.!!!!!!!!!
please help

If you qualify for that free download of XP mode, you can use it with VMWare Player 3.1. You simply install XP Mode and there will be an option within VMWare Player 3.1 to convert your XP mode image into the VMWare format.
