Virtual Box screws up keyboard mapping after exiting

Hi, I'm running Windows 7 on an HP Pavilion dv4 with 4 gig of memory and after I have been on Virtual Box running XP for a while and I exit XP and Virtual Box my Win 7 keyboard is all messed up. By that I mean that pressing a key may bring a menu screen up. Or another key will cause the current screen to be iconed down or closed. It's pretty consistantly the same keys performing the same action every time it happens. It's like it invokes an alternate keyboard map that is the same every time it happens.

I also found this happening with VMWare Server2 running XP and the keys are mapped the same way.

Has anyone found this same problem or have any ideas as to how to fix it?

Using VirtualBox (and VirtualPC) on three machines, one of them an HP Pavilion laptop. Never heard nor seen this kind of issue.

Could you tell which keys are doing what? I mean, you said a certain key always does the same, wrong thing.

A good resource for HP specifics is here:
    HP Business Support Center

It's called "Business Support Center" or whatever but it's not HP paid support. It's users of HP business machines who volunteer answers like on here. You find many HP specific nuggets on that site you won't find anywhere else.

Kari, I wasn't that scientific about recording which key does what, but it's similar to pressing alt e and having the edit menu from the browser come up. I will go back when I get a chance, replicate the problem and go through the keyboard and record what's going on and see if there is any correlation.
Thanks for your comment I will further define the problem!!

Milesahead, thanks for the HP Business Support Center tip, I will check it out later.

...I'm a fan of Miles and all things jazz!!

The problem is not with HP. I am running VirtualBox in the Windows 7 host environment on Dell Studio XPS and have the same issue. I am running Linux Ubunty, Suse, Mint clients, as well as Windows XP client. Problem happens randomly (so to say, I didn't notice what triggers it).
