Make sys image files able to run in VirtualBox OK, In Windows 7's security options, you can make a System Image, so when I got my computer, I made a system image for back up. Is there any way I can use these files to run Windows 7 in like Virtual PC or VirtualBox, etc.? Please let me know. | My System Specs |

Theoretically it should be possible...
Get your Windows Installation Disk, insert it and boot off of it inside the VM. Use it to Restore the System using your system image. The problem you run into is that vBox is considered another system by the EULA. I think you would have problems activating it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 System Manufacturer/Model Number Apple Macbook Pro (April 2009) OS W7 Ult. x64 | OS X CPU Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo 2.93Ghz [T9800 Penryn] Motherboard NVIDIA nForce 730i Rev. I have always my latest system image mounted to a virtual machine as a second hard drive, to be able to exract files whenever I need to. This tutorial shows how to that, you can use the same principle to mount an image as a main hd in Virtual PC or VirtualBox machine.
However, Whs had a good point: you need to have a licence to use the same Seven installation (= image) on a separate (virtual) machine. That's also the reason I'm mounting the image as a second HD, not as a system drive.
