    XP Mode and hardware drivers

Can anyone tell me if XP mode will be the solution to this scenario: I have a midi/audio controller (Tascam US-428) which is no longer supported, hence no drivers for Windows 7 However, the software that I use in conjunction (via USB) with the controller (Cubase) runs fine in Windows 7. If I install the XP hardware drivers for the controller in XP mode, will they still work when I run Cubase in Windows 7?

No. The drivers in Xp mode would only work if the software and the USB device were also running under Xp mode (hint: Slow).

However, that audio controller simply will never work in this scenario. If it is a PCI or god forbid, ISA device, you cannot install them in VirtualPC.
