USB devices not showing up in XP Mode

I am hoping someone can give a little help with this problem.
I have XP mode installed and it works great. I have a bunch of programs
installed and they all work fine, almost. The problem is I need to use
an older windows xp program for transcribing voice files. The program installs
fine, however the usb foot pedal is not coming over from windows 7, where
it works fine but shows up in win7 device manager as HID compliant device.
Is there a way to bring this over some how? I see com ports can me mapped,
can this be done with usb also? Could I use an adapter to run the usb foot pedal
into a com port adapter somehow?

THanks for any thoughts or help.

Hello Idrift, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Have you tried to attach it from the XP Mode USB menu?

    Kari,

    Thanks for posting a reply.

Yes, I did try it but the device does not show up in the usb devices tab.
I also tried it by launching the transcription program directly from the
start menu and again it does not show up. I looked for other USB drivers
but it is one of those devices that doesn't use drivers or they are included
    in the OS.

I am wondering if it could get a foot pedal that is a serial port and then run
a serial to usb adapter to power it. I have an old printer at work that is a
parallel port that I installed an adapter on and it has drivers for the OS that
convers the usb to parallel. Perhaps that might carry through?
