Virtual XP Mode..Ungradable to Win 7?

I have Windows 7 Enterprise installed, I created a XP mode Virtual Enviroment and it works great. But i have 2 questions before doing anything.

    1. Can I upgrade this XP mode to Win7? (i know the point of XP is compatibility of SW BUT wondering if I could upgrade this virtual enviroment to Win 7)

    2. On the original Win 7 enterprise, could I create another virtual enviroment using Wins7?

all documentation i read on windows Virtual speaks to XP Mode only.

Thanks for anyone can assist with these 2 questions.

To create a new virtual machine, open the Virtual Machines folder (located in your user folder), click Create virtual machine, and follow the instructions.

Technically, XP can't be upgraded to Win 7. As Kari suggested, create a new virtual machine to install Win 7. There's no downside to keeping the XP mode virtual machine (other than some used disk space).

One thing to watch here is that as the virtual machine is classed as a separate machine from the eula Point of View - you will need to have a valid second license for the virtual copy of win7 - the License for the XP mode is part of the download package
