XP Mode disconnects host wireless connection

I have Windows 7 Pro with XP Mode. When I start the virtual machine, my wireless connection disconnects. Rather, it remains connected except it reports that there is no internet connection. Shutting down the XP Mode virtual machine does not allow me to regain my internet connection. Repair connection, disconnect/reconnect all fail. I have to reboot to reconnect successfully.

I have the network interface in XP Mode set to NAT although I have tried other settings. As soon as I start the virtual machine, my wireless connection dies.

Does anyone have some idea what might be going on here? Thanks,
    Kelly

Have you tried to update the Ethernet controller drivers in the XP virtual machine?

No, I haven't tried that but I will try that, thanks. Mainly because I lose my internet connection on the host, I figured the problem would be on the host side. I have updated the drivers on the host.

Interesting. I got it working by disabling the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adaptor" under Windows 7 Pro x64. Then, my WiFi stays connected when I start the XP Mode virtual machine. I am not sure where this driver comes from but it is pretty old. It has a date of 6/21/2006 v6.1.7600.16385.
