How to Install Virtual PC on Windows Premium 64 bit home edition

    Hey All,
I am taking an online class and my professor is requesting that I install Virtaul PC on my machine. However, I've been having some difficulty in finding a for sure way to install it. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Can anyone help me on this issue. Thank you in advance.

Since you are using Windows 7 Home Premium you will not be able to download the newer version of Windows Virtual PC (You need to have Windows 7 Pro or higher)

I also found the older version, Download details: Virtual PC 2007 This version might or might not work I have not really tried it out on Windows 7.. It says it works for Vista so I am guessing this might work for Windows 7..

Do you have to use Virtual PC? there are others like VirtualBox which I found easier and I personally found it better than Windows Virtual PC... and it will work for Windows 7 Home Premium..

    Hope this Helps..

I agree. It actually works for every OS. There is a Windows, Mac and Linux client for VirtualBox.

Another option not mentioned for the XP Mode is the VMware Lite edition workstation for running the XP Mode. Download - VMLite Products

This will actually download a fresh copy of the XP Mode and set it up for you.

download vmlite from Welcome to the VMLite
    download windows vm http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

provide windows ultimate as option or else it will complain. provide the downloaded exe file in vmlite.

    have fun
