    Windows 7 activation problem (The data is invalid)


    Hay I'm having trouble with activation windows 7 when I want activation windows I have en error 0x8007000D (the data is invalid) Help

    Unplug any USB devices, then re-install ... see if that works.

    Did you download the RC from the MS sites or a torrent?
    If you did the torrent route you may have gotten a hold of one that's been altered.

    If so, download directly from MS...I'd use the TechNet site as it has less traffic & you should get full download speeds on it.

    A '0x8007000D (the data is invalid)' error is caused by improper file security afaict, specifically operations on files for which the owner no longer exists. So at a guess I'd say this was caused by upgrading.
