Windows 7: Unable to update Code 80072EFE

Unable to update Code 80072EFE

I am using Windor 7 Utlimate verson with 32 bit, IE verison 8 and micro trend internet security pro. I able to find the needed updates, but unable to install those updates.
Error message 80072EFD & 80072EE2.
Thx for your help

i had a virus it kept turning windows update iff and i wiped the hard drive i tried many virus comapnies and when i try to update windows and it did the same when o had the virus i get error code 80072efe and i want to update

It's something to do with the rootkit files, follow the following steps:
1) Download this file from the following link http://support.kaspersky.com/downloads/utils/tdsskiller.exe .
2) Run it, follow the steps.
3) Reboot you computer...
4) check for updates ... good luck...
Note. This will fix windows defender update issue as well...
