Windows Genuine Advantage issues

Hello again sevenforums.

I'm having some issues with my partners laptop. Her ex-boyfriend upgraded her laptop with an illegal copy of Windows 7, not sure what version.

Now I was unaware of this and updated her system with Windows update, and now I get the WGA notifications after I login and the blank desktop with WGA tray notification bubbles.

My issue is that I cannot undo what has been done to this system and would like to remove WGA from the system.
But first, a few things you need to know.

1. I do not have the original disk to restore her system to Vista, like she had before.
2. We do not have the Internet at our house at this time either.

What I am asking is this. Is it possible to remove WGA from her system completely manually via deleting singular files/folders from the C:/ drive or registry?

I've looked over a few tutorials pertaining to this and they all explain about finding wgalogon.dll from the system32 folder, which I cannot find there, even with hidden folders visible. Nor can I find the wgatray.exe from startup via msconfig.exe.

It would be nice to be able to resolve this, but If you have a strict policy against tech support for illegal copies of Windows products then I completely understand, but I would like a response in any case. :)

Get a .iso of parted magic and if the ex-boyfriend didnt delete the recovery partition, just change it to "boot" or "active" and restart the computer, let it recover the OS to factory state.
