[Win7-HELP!] Activating in a different country

couple months ago, i bought a Windows 7 Ultimate Retail back in my hometown (Indonesia). didnt have a chance to install it, which means my Windows has never been activated, and now i moved to Australia. im gonna buy a PC soon, and just wondering, am i gonna be able to activate my Windows here? because there is an "Activation Restrictions" that says : "Distribution and required activation must occur in Southeast Asia"

    cheers...

Call Microsoft Customer Service in Australia to ask how to proceed.

    oh wow...definitely best to call.

just out of curiosity, have you guys heard if there is a MS policy that when its an area specific Win 7 that has been purchased it has to be activated for the first time in that area? I remember reading about it somewhere I just can't put my finger where or direct the OP to that...

You do not have Volume Licensing with a retail product. I would not call there. Instead call MS Customer service in Australia. They will know who can help you. You are probably going to need an exception made to this activation policy but reportedly it can be done.
