Windows 7 x64 Reboot during Microsoft Update

Oh, okay, sorry I didn't know. I'm just really frustrated with this. I wanted to reinstall windows 7 because of this and when I make bios boot from disc with the windows 7 OEM Home premium dvd in, it loads the files and then strangely acts like windows 7 is going to start (with the glowing windows logo) and then just restarts. How can I reinstall if it doesn't even give me a chance to reformat and install ><? I just ran the sfc /scannow and no problems were detected. Should I do a repair install like you suggested or a full install? I really don't mind either. I just want windows to work normally again. I just have the issue of windows 7 reinstall loading on boot because it restarts..

Okay, after doing the repair that you linked, I log back into windows and it said .net framework 4 needed to be repaired and told me to wait. I waited and the computer shut down and rebooted. So frustrating, should I do a fresh install?

I did a fresh install and everything is working fine. No crashes so far even after updating in microsoft update. I installed Avast again and I'll slowly install all my programs and keep a restore point always close. I have no idea what caused it but It definitely doesn't seem to be hardware. When in doubt, reinstall windows. I hope this probably doesn't come back. I'll let you guys know, thanks for the tips.
