WindowsUpdate_ Error 8024402C help

I've tried everything to get Windows Updates to install -- I keep getting the error 8024402C. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, none of the suggestions I've found on other forums seem to work.

I tried adding Windows update to my firewall as an exception, adding the windows update site as an exception to the proxy server... but still no luck. Any other ideas? I have tried almost everything out on the sites

I suggest rid of proxy server

run cmd.exe with admin previlliges (right click on cmd.exe and choose "run as administrator") and type:

netsh winhttp reset proxy

+ restart
