win7 thinks I change mobo every restart

Basically windows thinks I changed the motherboard or some other type of hardware (which I havent) and asks me to activate every time I restart. Always worked fine up until a few days ago. Not sure what to do as the hardware all worked fine with windows vista before using windows 7.

Are you activated. Do you have the MS genuine symbol on the lower right, if you go to my computer and right click then properties?

I am not activated anymore but was before. my copy is genuine (have ran the wga tester thingy) but the activation error says the key has been blocked. The computer basically things I changed hardware when I never have before.

    Hi there
maybe a silly question but WHERE did you source your copy of Windows 7.

If an OEM or a Torrented version then you can't install on another PC.

If it's a RETAIL copy then try the Windows Genuine Advanyage tool test (Ms site). If it passes then as the previous poster says activate by phone. If it fails chances are your copy of W7 has been copied from somewhere before.

If you move W7 to another machine then you have to activate by phone.

    Cheers

How have you come to the conclusion the computer thinks you've changed hardware? OTOH, the error saying the key is blocked is highly indicative.

    Download the mgadiag tool.

Run the tool, click on the Copy button on the tool, then paste to notepad, save as txt file and upload the file with your next post.
