Windows 7: Error 800B0100 for Windows 7 Update

I need help resolving this Windows update problem. Checksur.log indicates I have corrupt files (see log below). Based on earlier articles I understand I need to replace corrupted Manifests and Servicing package files. But I'm not sure how/where to acquire the repair files.

Can someone help?

I have got a massive backlog, from a really, really busy night. You do need to replace them. Any error showing in a CheckSUR.log need to be fixed if Windows Update is ever going to work again. You can try the Windows Update reset etc. and it may fix an unseen problem, however, you will still get your current errors. I will be with you as quickly as possible, to provide you with them.

Well done on uploading your log! We had a massive influx of people with Windows Update related issues last night, and by uploading your log today, you have skipped the queue that there will be tomorrow as everyone uploads their log! I have sourced those files. I give this about a 75% success rate. If it fails, just come back here.

I have attached a file called Pack.zip. Inside will be two folders, Manifests, and Packages. Extract every file in Manifests into C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\WinSxS\Manifests and everything from Packages into C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Do not mix them up. If you extract too many files into a directory, the tool will immediately fail to run. If those folders do not exist, create them. Just to confirm. They should be out of the zip file. In C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\WinSxS\Manifests there should be 10 files. In C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages there should be 8. If that is not how yours looks, re-read the instructions, or ask me for help!

Right, now run the System Update Readiness Tool.

Once it has finished, copy C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log to your Desktop, and then upload it, or copy and paste it between CODE tags.
