    Windows Updates for removed software


    I no longer use Office 2003 (updated to Office 2007) but Windows Updates keeps telling me I have updates for Office 2003. How do I tell Windows Updates to stop this nonsense?

    Try running the windows installer cleanup utility and remove any office 2003 entries.

    Please note this tool is no longer supported by MS.

    Another thing you can try, run CCleaner registry cleaner to remove any leftover entries.

    If nothing works, you can just right click on the offending update and select "Hide".

as i said in the title i removed a software but i can still see that function when i right click on any item on desktop if i click on it , it shows it couldn't find the related files , install it again etc. any idea how do i get rid of that function on right click options?:huh:
I loaded a cd and I caqn not get the cd to update via the web. I get a meassage baqck to check my internet settings. Can someone guide me in the correct direction, I'm lost in windows 7. Thank you

Hi, I searched before asking this and it's probably a very simple answer. I have removed Windows Office from my laptop. Now using Open Office. Am I correct in thinking that it is safe to ignore all Windows Updates for any Office application? Plus, is it safe to remove any that were installed...
