Because Microsoft has changed the url link.
Below is the new url link to Validate Windows.
Genuine Microsoft Software
I validated windows and it passed the test.
How do I validate office 2010?can u provide me the url?
Office 2010 is supposed to be self-validating, though MS has not thought it fit to enlighten the general user on its website. But heres an excerpt from the EULA.
5. VALIDATION.
a. The software will from time to time request download of the validation feature of the software. Validation verifies that the software has been activated and is properly licensed. A validation check confirming that you are properly licensed permits you to use the software, certain features of the software or to obtain additional benefits. For more information, see www.microsoft.com/genuine/office/WhyValidate.aspx.
b. During or after a validation check, the software may send information about the software, the device and the results of the validation check to Microsoft. This information includes, for example, the version and product key of the software and the Internet protocol address of the licensed device. Microsoft does not use the information to identify or contact you. BY USING THE SOFTWARE, YOU CONSENT TO THE TRANSMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION. For more information about validation and what is sent during or after a validation check, see www.microsoft.com/genuine/office/PrivacyInfo.aspx.
c. If, after a validation check, the software is found to be counterfeit, improperly licensed, or a non-genuine Office product then the functionality or experience of using the software may be affected. For example,
Microsoft may
• provide notice that the software is improperly licensed or a non-genuine Office product;
and you may
• receive reminders to obtain a properly licensed copy of the software; or
• need to follow Microsoft’s instructions to be licensed to use the software and reactivate;
and you may not be able to
• use or continue to use the software or some of the features of the software; or
• obtain certain updates or upgrades from Microsoft.
Here is the message of validation test.. Is this okay?
Just a question of curiosity
Suppose I install windows 7 won`t activate and used up all the three rearms then how will windows react?
Something like this will happen:
1.20 Second wait when starting Windows, with a screen saying activate now.
2.Solid Black desktop wallpaper with a notification at the bottom right corner about non-genuine copy.
3.Nag screens popping up at random.
4.Notification popups at random.
5.You will still be able to do most Windows updates, but anything through Windows Genuine Advantage will fail, this includes certain programs (e.g. Microsoft Security Essentials) and features such as many downloads from Microsoft.com that require validation.
Depends on your definition of ruin....Let me try to dissuade you from this idea.
1) Anybody other than yourself accessing that computer will quickly know you're using software without paying for it.
2) You may get nags at unexpected times and unexpected places, so theres no guarantee you'll be able to use the computer productively.
3) WAT is a dynamic technology, theres no kill switch for unactivated win7 now but there may be in the future.
4) Win7 is a GOOD OS and not too expensive either. Its a good investment that'll give you several years of productivity and peace of mind.
