    Windows 7 Ultimate Activation!

Just got off the phone to microsoft very disappointed with the level of service provided. Tried to speak to someone higher to try and resolve the issue and they cut me off saying i was being unprofessional?!
Bought Windows 7 Ultimate brand new and sealed over a year ago on first install acvtivation was given for approx 360 days. A year later i reboot the computer product key doesn't work. They say the product key is not a home user copy and so must be pirate. If its pirate why wasn't this recognised the first time i installed windows 7? Seller wont accept return as the packaging has been opened and now im left with an expensive windows 7 ultimate that i cant use! Someone please help me!

Where did you buy it from ? Is it a retail, upgrade, or OEM Ultimate ?

Bought it from an ebay trusted seller (alot of positive feedback) as sealed. Believe it was desribed as retail i have both 32 and 64 bit disks (marked as genuine) and have installed it before successfully when i built the computer from new so must be retail and not upgrade?

Trusted seller or not, most of the Windows 7 sales on ebay end up being pirated software with MDSN/TechNet keys, and the keys end up getting black listed... This looks like what happened in your case... Unfortunately after a year, you wont have any recourse against the seller, and you will need to purchase a legitimate copy from Microsoft or a legal reseller ...

What do the DVDs look like? Some ebay sellers were selling MSDNA & Technet products which were not Retail & later blacklisted.
Do you have a pic of your Discs ?

I cant get my old hp printer/scanner to connect to this computer at the mo coz im on windows 7. The discs have a pink surround with windows icons in, microsoft label, windows 7 label and windows 7 written in small print the whole way round in the background. In the centre on black background there is text including 'Windows 7 Ultimate' 'do not lend or make illegal copies DVD' 'Includes Windows Anytime Upgrade' '32 bit software' 'small c in circle 2009 microsoft corporation' code underneath. Can i emphasize that when i bought this THE COA WAS NOT BROKEN.

    Thanks for your help all

@ Tews. Why did MS not recognize it as a pirate more recently! It's only now i have rebooted the computer that they are saying its not genuine. Now i have no recourse because of this mistake...

Your DISCs do sound like valid MS discs as compared to a win7 Pro I have here.
I think you need to get another MS rep on the phone.

Unfortunately, it takes time to identify these keys ... Im sorry that you got scammed, but this is in no way Microsofts fault...
