Suddenly getting pop-up box saying W7 not genuine

    Hi,

I was restarting my pc because the keyboard didn't work but the mouse work. Then I got this pop-up box prior to entering the OS saying your copy of windows may not be genuine with two options:Get genuine now and ask me later. There was a 0x0 at the box somewhere. When I said get genuine now, it says your windows is now genuine. Anyone obtaining this as well?

You might also go to the Windows 7 Validation web page and run their validation check ActiveX plugin and see what you get there.

Be sure to do this with IE8 though. Go here to run the check: Genuine Microsoft Software

You can also try this method too.
To validate that Windows 7 is genuine is to click on Start, then type in activate windows in the search box.

If your copy of Windows 7 is activated and genuine, you will get a message that says “Activation was successful” and you will see the Microsoft Genuine software logo on the right hand side.

My copy of Ultimate (from the Redmond company store) did that. I thought it was quite funny that MS could think a copy they sold directly was not genuine.
