10 Updates and no problems here
I seem to have some problems after the last updates. Once I ended up in a blank screen without any desktop icons and no mouse pointer. Once when I started it went through the check disk for C. These however did not repeat thereafter -atleast till now.
But one thing that repeats itself is that my computer goes to sleep now even though I had set "never" in the "high performance" setting. i checked and the setting still remains "never". Then why does it go to sleep? I am yet to look into deeply on this problem.
Based on my experience, I had one problem with the updates to office 2003 and the outlook spam filter updates. I run outlook 2010 and not 2003. I have the other office 2003 products installed.
It screwed up my outlook 2010 but I was able to restore from an image created in the am. I just set the outlook spam filter updates to not install and all seems well. But then I am wierd in that I like outlook 2010 but am entrenched with word and excel 2003.

No problems on my Ultimate x64 and Professional x64 machines
Yup, no problems whatsoever with SP1 installed, and i installed Feb. 9 updates. running smooth here with Professional 64-bits :)
First time poster, first time with this OS.
Well I am in the process of reverting my almost new out of the box Gateway portable back to factory install mode even as I type. The first time it got on line it automagically downloaded 67 updates and then changed the not installed password and locked me out....
Apparently there is no work around for this except reinstall. Good thing I had nothing on the box.
First thing out, this time, I'm going to turn off auto update. I like to wait a few weeks for the dust to settle before I allow windows access to my computers.
I just installed all (or almost all) "Important" updates available since lasted December on my Win7 X64 Pro. Something in that set of updates has greatly lengthened the time between selecting a user after a reboot and the display of the desktop. It used to be almost instantaneous; now it takes a minutes or more. This delay may be related to initialization of my firewall/anti-virus software (ZoneAlarm Security Suite 9.1.603.000) - it hung up one time shortly after the update reboot and had never hung up before.
BTW, even though I had chosen installation of all important maint there is still one uninstalled update: KB976902.
The comments say this update is unremovable. Does that mean that I can't go back to previous restore points, or that I can't remove it without going back to a previous restore point? (Sorry to ask a bonehead question, but I'm Windows-illiterate.)
Edit#1: I found and read the thread on KB976902. I've installed the fix.
Edit#2: I upgraged ZoneAlarm to 9.3.037.000 and no longer have the delay during user selection processing. No more problems.
