Can not open programs

Hi, I received windows updates on 2-9-11, since then I can not open most of the programs in win 7 ultimate. I have a duel boot with win XP Pro, I am using xp now. I can not open restore points to go to an earlier time. Most of the programs will not open in my computer. I can not open FireFox or internet explorer. The anti virus and spy-ware programs worked but came up with nothing. Has any one had a problem with these updates?

Hello Hirise, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might see if you may be able to do a system restore at boot instead using a restore point dated when you did not have this issue.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thank you Brink. I could not restore to another date, all the restore dates were deleted. I deleted win updates, none of them were the cause. Deleted and reinstalled programs till I found it. It ended up being Threat Fire, an anti-virus program. Thank you, Hirise
