    Windows Update Not working?

I know there was a thread before about this, and I tried what was posted in the other thread.
The thing is, I can't perform any updates on my Laptop. I've got windows Vista Home. I tried
    net stop wuauserv
    regsvr32 %windir%\system32\wups2.dll
    net start wuauserv

    and

    net stop wuauserv
    regsvr32 %windir%\syswow64\wups2.dll
    net start wuauserv

but neither of these worked. It kept saying access is denied. Now there's a problem with my laptop. My guest account is my administrator account, and my main account is a standard user. I was wondering how I can fix that and if that problem relates to the problem I'm having now with the windows update.

I downloaded it and opened it. Not sure if it worked. I opened Windows Update and it's checking for updates now.

Have you tried the both methods .bat on the same page? might want to reboot after...

    Then run SFC /SCANNOW

I'm not sure about both methods, though I tried doing what you just posted sfc /scannow on both user user accounts and get this error message.
You must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility.

You'll have to run it as administrator

in start=> search bar=>type cmd.exe=>right click on the cmd.exe=>run it as admin

You should see in the open windows:

    C:\Windows\system32, then type SFC /SCANNOW

Or you can try this way:
    Disk Check

I downloaded it and opened it. Not sure if it worked. I opened Windows Update and it's checking for updates now.
But it's looks like Windows Update is working now....?

Nevermind, a Sfc /scannow will not be that bad.
