| | Windows Update My action centre is warning me to update windows. I have Kaspersky Antivirus 2011 installed and updated. and my computer is operating very well. Is it necessary for me to update windows?? |

| | Updates patch vulnerabilities (holes) in OS components that can be exploited by hackers, trojans and other nasties. The 0 day patches in fact provide protection that AVs/firewalls cant. At least the critical and important updates are necessary, optional updates can be skipped. |

| | YES! it is very important to keep Windows Updated. You can ignore optional updates unless you really need them but make sure to take the critical and important ones. |
