    An issue with Windows 7 SP1: error_file_not_found(0x80070002)

    Hi,
From my experience with Microsoft updates, I'm quite sure that I'll be forced to install SP1 sooner or later so I wanna do it now but it doesn't want to install giving me this error message (after a lot of patience waiting for the installation). Here it is a screenshot:

P.S. I have all updates that Microsoft offered through the previous months till now and I tried to install SP1 through the windows update site and also I downloaded the whole thing but still no way worked for me. Both ways gave me the above message

I ran the system update readiness tool for windows (I tried the one that came with windows update and then I tried downloading the whole thing and ran it off of Hard Disk)prior to installation and here it is a copy of the CBS folder which was created by this tool so that it may help anyone tell me how to handle this issue and successfully install SP1

The file i uploaded is CBS.rar
It can be downloaded from here:
    CBS.rar - Windows Live

    Thx in advance.

    Hello!

I bring bad news. I have never seen a system with such a massive corruption:

    Code:
     Found 3038 errors
     Fixed 2177 errors
CSI Manifest Missing Total count: 925
Fixed: CSI Manifest Missing. Total count: 925
CSI Payload File Missing Total count: 1157
Fixed: CSI Payload File Missing. Total count: 296
CSI Store Directory Missing Total count: 956
Fixed: CSI Store Directory Missing. Total count: 956
The previous biggest I have seen is 738 errors. You have 3038 errors. You have set a record for me, and are certainly one of the top whatever on the internet for most errors!

SURT has fixed most of these errors, but 861 (still more than the previous record!) remain.

These errors are all scattered, and are not errors my automation tools can process. I cannot find and fix that many errors.

Please download the free SeaTools for Windows here: SeaTools

Run a SMART check if available, a Short Self Check, a Long Self Check (self check is also known as DST) and report back to me on which ones pass, and which ones fail.

After that, you will be looking at a Repair Install: Repair Install

or a Clean Install: Clean Install Windows 7

    Richard

If you have multiple hard disks, please run it on your C:\
