    Not a genuine licence??

Hi I got my copy of W7 pro from ebay and paid only about £20 under the shop retail price . It has now been installed on a new pc for several months during which time I have validated my copy. This week I got a message saying my copy may not be genuine and click this link to rectify the problem. The link appears to go to a MS site but then says pay £110 for a licence. Surely if my copy was validated months ago it must be a valid copy. Also if it was not genuine I would be sent a genuine disk and licence. Anyone know if there is a scam/virus going around?

    Hello fastfrankie,

There is probability of about a 95% chance you got scammed by an eBay seller, That sells the Win7 Key Codes multiple times until they get blacklisted by Microsoft. If it has been over 60 days since you bought it, you have very little recourse with the seller or with eBay

    Download and run this tool.

    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

Click on the Copy button in the tool, paste into notepad, save as .txt file and upload the file here.

@Tlakoyo, as per that log various licensing related files are "tampered".

    Tampered File: %systemroot%\system32\sppc.dll|sppc.dll.mui
    Tampered File: %systemroot%\system32\sppcext.dll|sppcext.dll.mui
    Tampered File: %systemroot%\system32\slc.dll|slc.dll.mui
    Tampered File: %systemroot%\system32\slcext.dll|slcext.dll.mui
    Tampered File: %systemroot%\system32\sppuinotify.dll|sppuinotify.dll.mui
    Tampered File: %systemroot%\system32\slui.exe|slui.exe.mui|COM Registration
    Tampered File: %systemroot%\system32\sppcomapi.dll|sppcomapi.dll.mui
    Tampered File: %systemroot%\system32\sppcommdlg.dll|sppcommdlg.dll.mui
    Tampered File: %systemroot%\system32\sppsvc.exe|sppsvc.exe.mui
This is usually the result of user "creativity" but I guess it can also happen otherwise.

    Run sfc scan.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Then try validating at the MS genuine site.

user creativity? what o you mean? I haven't tampered or messed with windows in any fancy way ... I'm afraid though of voiding the warranty by using not official tools? is it safe?

Sfc is a built in windows tool, built very much by MS so totally safe.

As for user created, I didnt say you tampered, I just said thats generally the case.
