    32-bit updates, 64-bit computer?

Some advice, please. Windows updates tells me that these updates are important. But I have a 64-bit operating system, and they are for 32-bit apps. Do I need to install them anyway? How do I handle this? Thanks.

i know it sounds like a dumb question, but are you sure you have 64 bit windows installed? eg I have a 64 bit capable processor, but 32 bit windows is installed.

    Nono, it's ok.

You just have a 32-bit Office edition, in a 64-bit OS! no worries. Install them :)

    Thanks, biggles1000 and Punkster.

So, Punkster, Windows update detects I have a 32-bit Office edition, and that's why it's telling me to install these important updates?

And how do I confirm that I have a 32-bit Office edition? Thanks.

i guess it would be under (eg) Word Options in the ribbon flag, >resources>about. I think it will say in the about bit but i'm not sure as I run office 2007 (only has a 32 bit version)

Open any of the programs in Office, let's say, Word 2010.

Go to File, then Help, on the right you'll see an "About" line, it'll tell you the version of the Office version alongside with its architecture.

Yes, install those updates, they showed up in my Windows Update too, installed without hiccups, 16 important updates :) including Office and Windows

    Yup. 32-bit it is!

    Updates installed. No problems.

    Thanks, Punkster.
